About Us

Tiki  has been in education for over twenty- five years.  She was a math teacher to Jr. High School.  In 1988 she immigrated to Canada and started working as a teacher in day care. During her time in the day care, she enjoyed working immensely with the early age. Due to her vast experience with the age group and enjoyment of the age group she decided to get her Early Childhood educator diploma in 1993 from a community collage.  During this time she worked in the public school system in the JK/SK classes. She has experience working with kids in her home daycare, where she conducted a full academic program for kids ranging from 6 months to 6 years old. In 2005 her dream came true, she opened a full license day care.

Tiki believes that the best environment for children to develop is one that nurtures the child, an environment where the child feels loved.  Once the child feels loved he/she will learn optimally.  Through games, songs, and art activities children will learn and develop.  Also, Tiki feels strongly that through mathematics the educator can develop the child’s cognitive abilities.  Based on this premonition Tiki developed a math program that aims to further develop the child’s cognitive abilities.  Furthermore, the more you give that child the more he/she will know.
           
In the fall of 2005 Tiki opened a full licensed day care “Tiki’s Day Care Centre Inc.” Tiki’s Day Care serves children from ages 18 months to 5 years of age.  The day care offers three age groups.  Each class has a full program with a Hebrew teacher and an English teacher.  All of the teachers in the day care are highly qualified for the early child hood. Children in the day care are offered an enrichment program.  The enrichment program involves a specialized teacher coming in and teaching the children.  For instance; Music and Rhythm, Drama, Hip Hop, Yoga.  The day care has an on site kitchen, where children have four hot home made, kosher style, meals a day.  Tiki’s Day Care Centre offers families a place away from home, a place where the child feels loved and nurtured.  The Centre is a family run , family oriented environment.
